I appreciated both performances, but I think Jack takes this one for me. He gave the DEFINITIVE Joker performance. His makeup was better, not sloppy. His one-liners were artful and he was just plain funnier, while Heath's Joker was more or less macabre...

He didn't seem insane or crazy or psychotic, more like an amused... .
Jack's joker was TOO funny.
Personally, i don't the fear factor and mentality and everything .
In becoming the joker, and in that instance, Heath I think will definitely win.

Why so serious? Posted by: WuBr94
What a shame.
I would have loved to see Joker team up with Bane.
And yes, I believe he would have returned.
That fit perfectly into Nolan's portrayal of Joker.

Will Tom Hardy's Bane outperform Heath Ledger's Joker? They all said it couldn't be done, I think I remember Michael Caine saying it in Empire Magazine and I actually believed it too...until Tom Hardy was announced as Bane. Tom Hardy is a terrific actor...

I know that's the case.

I also like the Bane character.

Nicholson was naturally suited to the role of the Joker and just slotted straight into....
Ledger was in Nolan's realistic Batman so he played it that way whereas Nicholson played a character in a Tim Burton film.
For the film they were in.

I've done four portraits recently and each has been an improvement on the last. Funny thing with this portrait is when I was watching The Dark Knight I didn't recognize Heath Ledger at all. But I could see him when I was drawing the picture. Any thoughts...
