Does the forums have suggestion's for GW letters? I have paid collections and have written Miidland Credit and First Federal Credit Control but have had no luck and no response from either. They are not scheduled to come off of my report for another 1...

Long story short, sent a GW letter to a CA and got a return letter saying "...Because this account is part of your credit history, it cannot be removed . It has been updated to show as paid in full as of 6/8/11."
So, if I remember right from my reading...

I've had no excuse (real excuse in my opinion, at least letter would never stop me.
You can' to assist in trying to get a GW to work.
I would send another letter, maybe to a different address or addressed to the CEO or owner.

IMO, if its a paid collection, and they simply don't want to approve your GW request, they will just discard it or send you a ....
But if they did report to the other CRAs before and you somehow got them removed....YMMV .

Happens quite frequently when submitting GW's.
I had sent them a GW letter and they responded the same way as they did your GW letter as a dispute.
For an investigation of the lates.

I GWed Barclay's Bank. They have been really nice and courteous.
They didn't delete my account but made a change. Here is what it was before the GW letter:
