A recent thread concerns 2H-P-3H-P-P-X. While there are several ways
to play this double, I think takeout, very shapely, but not strong
enough to double the first time, is fairly standard. In other words,
this double is *more* takeout-oriented than any...

I fully appreciate the atomicity that the Threading.Interlocked class provides; I don't understand, though, why the Add function only offers two overloads: one for Integers, another for Longs. Why not Doubles, or any other numeric type for that matter...

I have a sorted array of double values in C++. Is there an STL function that will return the index of the nearest value in the array to a given double value?
For example, given the following array

the function...

Every time I play doubles or watch a doubles match, it seems like every shot is hit with the intention of ending the point. Does anyone else experience the same thing?

I tend to hit harder....
In doubles, points in a sense, are doubles players more comfortable with hitting winners since they have to put the ball up the net guy to finish.
In singles, you have to construct points to hit winners or force errors .

VB6 doesn't appear to make it that easy to store +infinity, -infinity and NaN into double vars. It would help if it could so that I could do comparisons with those values in the context of complex numbers. How?

It basically uses kernel-level memory copies the initialization of those values....
