Hi there, I regrettably haven't studied maths since I was 16 (GCSE level), I'm now a 27 year old c# developer. Would it be a fruitless exercise trying to work through this book? What kind of maths standard is expected of the reader? Thanks in advance ...

If there was any difficult math, i think you can skip i think general understanding....
Whenever it discusses mathematical topics, it provides sufficient to deal with that sooner or later in programming .
No college/university level math.
What's the highest-level math you've used in the real world? What did you need it for? Where did you learn it (in school, by yourself)? (Incidentally, I do mean in a programming context , as this is a programming website.) Note: I'm not wondering if mathematics...

The logic I learned prior to college.
Discrete math, but at a very basic level.
I am including logarithms and exponents under Algebra here.
Nothing too fancy, definitely high school level math.
For manipulating equations.

What I'm finding out about math education is that most of it is taught incorrectly.
The discrete math class will teach you some really useful stuff (graph theory, combinatorics, etc you're in the same position I am.

I got or Physics, I didn't even do a Mechanics module in A level maths.
I did Maths, Chemistry, Biology and French at A level.

If you take 6 Maths units you get an A level in Maths, 9 and you get an A level in Maths and an AS in Further Maths, 12 and you get 2 full A....
You can't do Further Maths without Maths.

If you are good at math 1, I would expect you to do well on the math section of the SAT.
I would like to know about this as well! Well, the SAT math 1 subject test is harder than the SAT math section.

D is a junior and currently taking ap calc. She's looking at courses for next year. They have ap stats in her school, but she'd rather take a higher level math (linear algebra or something like that) rather than AP stats. Would she be missing something...
