I'm working on a website for someone. Turns out they want support for Dreamweaver Templates. I'm more of an Eclipse guy, and it seems like the only way to actually work with DWT is with Dreamweaver itself. Dreamweaver is not something I'm willing to shell...

If you research get the Dreamweaver CS4 template syntax by checking the following: http://help.adobe.com/en_US that is supposed to parse Dreamweaver....
Dreamweaver templates are all based on specific tags in the form of html comments.

Into dreamweaver, not possible yet, such intelligent machines are not yet invented, but evolution has produced you,
so what you can do is see the site page by page, and make it again in dreamweaver easily copy css etc, you can use tools....

These aren't dreamweaver template.
These from Dreamweaver into something like Eclipse may be your best bet as Eclipse has much more comprehensive code editor support for the Java based environment.

Long story short, use a more appropriate IDEI am not going to directly answer your question, but really, an IDE like NetBeans or Eclipse would be much better suited....
Just like what I am guessing you like about Dreamweaver.

It lacks many features and isn't really meant to be used a spiffy control panel .
Do you mean as you type? Since PHP isn't compiled, it's not as easy to do as with a language like for, but Dreamweaver is not a very good editor for PHP.
