I went oil crazy.
I stocked up on Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, and some more of my backup Coconut Oil. Next time I would probably go to Walmart because the Grapeseed Oil and the Sweet Almond Oil were both like $6. I think that...

And it has Almond....
I like it because it's heavier than jojoba oil but lighter than something like olive oil.
LOL yeah.
You can easily pay twice that some places.
Sounds like you got a good price on the olive oil.

Tapping block for oil feed like TT? With a bare NA block, has anyone ever tapped the block on the passenger side so the oil feed is like the GTE?
Is this something any good machine shop should be able to do?

While you at it....
While you at it, might as well get the oil shop to do.
That's a fairly easy procedure for a machine shop to do .
This looks like where the block is drilled, then plugged for the oil feed to other side of block.

And, to drain old mobil there's a cork under the engine. .
It is for entering new mobil.
The hole is protected by a cork.
It is on the right side of your bike's engine .
Try it at your own risk.
I think you're going to change mobil.

If it leaks when it just sits, you would either... .
Not doing so can cause serious damage, like cracking the oil panYou're saying it leaks when it just sits? The gasket line of the pan is above the oil level.
In the FSM to the letter.

Found this while cleaning out my Mothers garage. Should be the best oil in the world, this stuff would save us a lot on oil changes. I think it's about 32+ years old, never opened. Shelf life???

I've been riding for a while now and no one has ever told me that until Friday. Some guy stopped at a light with me told me "your bike sounds low on oil". WTF, can you even tell its low on oil by the sound???

Do you try to keep it at the minimum, maximum, or right in the middle of the range? I like to keep my cars right at the Max line, in case the oil level drops a bit. My cars dip stick range is around an inch. Seems like you could eek out a little better...

Hi,
My 2010 FJR has 12,190 miles. I've done 3 oil changes already using the same oil and filter as before. I've also done many oil changes on other bikes I've had over the years so I'm not an oil change noob.
Anyway, I changed...

And it shouldn't be the plugs.
Dropping two cylinders makes it sound like one of the coils quitPosted 05 May 2012 - 02:51 PM
It's not the oil.
Unrelated to the oil change.
