Can you cook stewing steak like normal steak? my Dad got the wrong one, they look pretty much the same... is it ok to cook it like regular steak? and should I fry or oven cook it?

Cook it whatever way is slowest, as slower is better with these cuts of meat .
You can, but stewing meat is generally fairly tough, which is why its good in stew, which is a low/slow cooking process, which allows the tough meat time to tenderize .

Just curious to see how people like to cook their venison steaks. I guess I would be referring to the backstraps specifically but any cut counts!

You lose all the flavor.
Rare for me..a good juicy steak is hard to beat I like beef steak medium rare but I like my venisonno steak should be well done.

Yep, like everyone steak....
I like mine like you do and I always order mine medium.
I'm very particular about how I like it and after many attempts to get a good steak is NOT a medium steak.

Think you can use a different soup (DH doesnt like mushroom)....like cream that you like.
We usually fry cube steak in the electric skillet but it never comes out very flavorful.
I might have to try this.

Any other Steak and Shake Like Restaurants Around?
Went to Steak and Shake for lunch today and thought it was a great deal. Five people for lunch with 4 milk shakes cost us $41 including 20 percent tip.
So...now I'm on the hunt for the next bargain place...

BTW do like Sweet Tomatoes...eat there every trip as well as Earl of Sandwich.
This is a particular bargain (when you share) as it feels like a nice TS type of place.
