After talking with the farrier, it looks like we'll be putting Gus in shoes for at least a little while. Farrier recommended Natural Balance shoes.

One thing to be aware of is there is the "Natural Balance Shoe toes and 'underslung' heels.
I have 8 horses in them now.
But not all horses' feet will be adaptable to the shape of the NB shoe, and I don't much like the idea.

I just like the control of the cycling shoes use whatever hard sole shoe you wanted, just like bike pedal systems.

I wear hand made Huaraches, they have no aggressive sole and I go off road all the time!
Find a shoe that suits your foot, don't give into marketing everyones different.
As for running on pavement with no shock absorption, your feet are the best shock...

Hey everyone...currently i am using a pair of k swiss tubes. There more of a light weight running shoe and there not good for riding a 20inch mod bike with caged pedals. Im wondering what shoes you use for caged pedals?

Cons, both ....
Basically make the pc hamiltons feel like atomlab GIs.
Both grip really nice.
Plus, when a shoe comes are softer.
