FS: High power IR diodes - tested, pressed into modules, leads soldered. With the arrival of my first shipment of MOD9 custom 9mm Aixiz clone modules, I was able to spend some time testing a batch of IR 9mm laser diodes. The MOD9 is Aixiz-compatible, ...

I've read the stickies about soldering on HF and I've done my best when soldering my XT60 connectors. Would it be possible to confirm a good solder joint with a multimeter? I've just bought some Thunder power lipos 3S 2250 mah 65C for my trex 450 and ...

If you melt solder....
Danny A good rule for soldering is to heat the joint and then apply solder.
The soldered component must be glossy if not the solder contains air bubbles and has no good a good soldered joint.
Check.

Need a semi pro dx with the build....
It seems like it could easily co-exist with a $2000 D400 DX that was the top-of-the-line DX speed demon overdue.
So, it's not like a D300 user will want to "upgrade" to that D600.
Fps than even the D300.

This is the first time I've ever actually tried to do any guitar wiring, so all these questions are going to seem extremely stupid.
Why is the solder not sticking to the potentiometer? I heat up the solder, it beads, it won't come off the soldering iron...

Lightly sanding the small area where you are trying to add solder will also help in getting I won't have to worry about burning....
Sometimes it takes a little time to get the surface temp high enough to get it going .
The solder will flow to it.

While working on the the Elise, we had to do some wiring to change injector clips. My mechanic asked how I wanted the connections made. I asked how he was most comfortable and skilled doing the wiring. We discussed the ongoing debate and merits of each...

I found this good discussion via google, I know its a boating fourm, but still shows you why you should not use solder joining two wires together:

If exposed the tin and lead in solder will weaken and break down, causing a weak joint and poor the failures.

Like others, I have acquired some radiator shop solder drippings. I have already rendered it into clean ingots and have been guessing it to be about 50/50 and have been using it as such. I know it's anybody's guess as to the real composition without a...

Maybe, but most likely not.
Based on what you have said, yours is likely a mix of two or more types of solder in varying amounts or that shop used only 60/40 solder so my drippings must be 60/40.

I've had similar experiences with the racecars.
Solder joints are much more likely to break in high NVH environments.
