The issue is as follows:
While racing, for the first few laps, the car runs normal, its fast, responsive and does its thing fine. Towards the end of the race though (5 min races) the car just stalls out (its a B44 so, not literal stalling) then will go...

QC3 install went okay, I mean, it looks like its been soldered with it, does sound more likely to be an esc related issue since you mentioned having steering but no response, or more scientifically ....

You don't need flux with rosin core ....
I use Kester 44 .031" solder.
What solder they obviously used a lot of heat and likely for too long.
As long as it is solidly soldered.
Ya, I don't think shinyness matters for that.

Do you need to worry about heat softening the steel at normal solder temps? If you use a propane torch on a rifle barrel to silver solder a EER scope base to it is the heat an issue for the barrel?

But, Gunsmiths might use a lower grade/melting point solder.
Not to be confused with lead free 5-10% silver solder for copper pipe.
Some I use for Stainless steel (45%)are semi-high temp.
Only issues- Silver solder alloys.

Most hard drives use more power then the USB can supply
They most likely have a wall wart to spin it will shutdown.
