Have a Yamaha RX-V661 and the line outs are ridiculously low. Anything I hook up to it has to be cranked to get to a descent volume and in the case of my recent powered speakers you can barely hear them at all.
Are there any cheap Line out level amps ...

Are....
Doesn't matter what I hook it up to the line out level are much lower can barely hear them at all.
It looks like what you want is an active preamp .
The line out volume would be that low there may be another issue there.

Mic the amp or run a line out to the board ?? What is the better/preferred method ? To mic the guitar amp, or to just run a line out of the amp and to the mixer ? I have not yet done either and was wondering what is the best way.
Thanks

As a sound guy I prefer either high quality emulation or a mix of mic/direct.
Preferred method ? To mic the guitar amp, or to just run a line out of the amp and to the mixer ? I have the method you prefer.

I occasionally listen to my iphone while driving, but find it very frustrating to deal with changing tracks or playlists directly on the phone. Even with the screen locked you can't change tracks by touch.

I have a guitar + amp now. However; I cannot get a nice clean sound out of the amp. It always sounds 'bassy' (too much bass) and muddy. The high notes are not clear and there's way too much bass, even if I turn the bass of the EQ on the amp off, and the...

Guess the amp speaker sucks...? It's an Orange CrushQuality of the speaker in the amp, quality of the amp in general, etc.
Good through the headphone jack / line-out jack.

A land line will not provide better sound quality: telephones don't carry the same range of audio signal as Skype does. But if the guests you are calling are on telephones rather than Skype, you're only going to get phone quality from them.
You could ...
