What you want to do is install AHK, then use the bundled Window Spy to find out the position of the button .
Autohotkey could do it!
Use the Click function.

The mouse pointer in my Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS VM (running in VMware Fusion) has changed into a little hand holding a document. It doesn't show up in screen-shots.
All mouse clicks (left or right) are ignored. But I can still type in the one Terminal window...

Has anyone found a better answer than rebooting?.
This same problem is driving me nuts...Having to reboot my VM / Ubuntu a couple of times a day is frustrating.. .
The only solution I've found is to reboot.
Install windows 7.

With my laptop, I use a Magic Mouse at work and a Logitech mouse at home. With the same "tracking speed" configuration on the Preferences, the Logitech moves much faster, which forces me to change the tracking speed every time I switch between the Magic...

I dont' have OSX myself, but this little application might be able to help you.

For example, my XP SP2 laptopThe X Mouse gizmo is just what the doctor ordered.
For focus-follows-mouse, add the flag 0x1.
