If i have faith without works is it a dead faith that just quotes scriptures?
What this means is if a person claims "I believe" and believes they are saved and will go to the top of salvation, is mislead. The "works" means being baptized, obeying the ten commandments, helping others, love others as you love your self, doing things for those less fortunate than you.

Are Faith and Success related?
I don't think people who are religious or spiritual are necessarily more successful in a professional sense- in fact, I think that sometimes the opposite may be true in a cut-throat world. Some relativism helps people make compromises needed to succeed.
On the other hand I do think there is a connection between having an overall values framework - religious or not - and happiness. Having some absolutes in your worldview make it a lot easier to sleep at night. So if happiness is success, I guess the answer is yes.

Why do theists see faith as a good thing?
In this case, by faith I mean belief without evidence. Why is it reasonable to believe in something when you have no evidence that it exists?

How has creationism affected your view of the Christian faith?
I'm hoping this is the appropriate community to be asking this question. I think this might be the place where I might find the people whose answers I want. I would really like to know how many of you have been adversely affected by creationist arguments. I am a conservative Christian, but I also accept the theory of evolution and the great age of the universe and it often pains me to see how many enemies are created by my fellow believers who argue so fervently against evolutionary science. I suspect it is a large part of why Christianity has become so unpopular in recent years. How many of you have personally or are close to someone who decided that Christianity is not tenable for you because YECs lead you to believe you must abandon reason in exchange for faith?

Do you have Faith in your government?
I would have more faith in the government if they forfilled some of their promises. The day I can have a medical problem and will not have to fight for HOURS with the insurance company to get paid what they are supposed to have paid, maybe I will START to have some faith If I were 90, I would be dead now from all this crap I have to deal with just from a broken arm.
