I spent two months living in my tent in the South of France when I was eighteen and then three months when I was twenty one but don't think I could cope with this!

I am in the same boat,trailer....
That a rooftop tent is my first choice always (and that includes two years living in a RTT on a 65 000km journey for a 3 week overland trip to remote places...so why not just put a convenient tent on top.

Or buy a Kathmanduu tent.
I've picked up lots of spare poles this way, and you can always cut them to size .
The Kathmandu seconds shop to find some new poles for your other tent.
