I am in the same boat,trailer....
That a rooftop tent is my first choice always (and that includes two years living in a RTT on a 65 000km journey for a 3 week overland trip to remote places...so why not just put a convenient tent on top.
I not going anywhere....why should I or anyone else.... why should we leave or homes because the illegal criminal activity of a few greedy hypocritical in sane few.... there's is enough off us to break down there walls and kick them out with our bare ...

Whilst their gear seems, and stats up in plenty of bad weather... .
Or buy a Kathmanduu tent.
I've picked up lots of spare poles this way, and you can always cut them to size .
The Kathmandu seconds shop to find some new poles for your other tent.

You will live through a lot of things with a bivy sack that you will not live through in a tent camping trips.
