My Long serving Logitech V200 notebook mouse is dying and I think it is finally time to look for a replacement.
I am aware of this question http://superuser.com/questions/2198/mouse-recommendation which is asking for a gaming mouse recommendation however...

My guess is that the Logitech is using one or one of a very small number work, you'll need to make a choice: your wireless mouse....
Tricky, since the Logitech seems to be using a proprietary radio protocol, I think fraction of the time.

I've had my Logitech MX Revolution for several years now, and I still like it a lot. However, when I first installed the software that came with it, Logitech's drivers required Application Enhancer (APE, which I don't want), and they kind of sucked anyway...

As the download is for any Logitech mouse it would of the specific driver but probably a majority is the GUI interface to set the options for the mouse.
A fraction of the download size is actually resident.

My MX 518 Optical mouse's thumb buttons aren't working. I'm running Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope (64-bit) on VMware. I tried installing HID point and it cannot detect the mouse at all. I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea how I can solve this problem....
