I'd like to get 18" ones, so we're talking up to 100 lbs on one handle.
Which of these 2 do you think is more secure? Are the first ones as quick to change as they look...

Its much quicker to change plates with the screw type collar than the spinlocks the screw type collar....
I did some testing of an old screw collar that was laying in a junk, not the spinlocks.
long before spinlocks came along.

Would I be an idiot to consider adding extra spring collars on each side to try and microload my barbell? I went to some Home Depots to try and find some flat washers but they weren't avaliable... and the presses are getting harder.

I have "semi" leveled with my level and can't do anything more until I can borrow my friends Starrett or have him come over.
I've read several post here on the two collar method and tried to find it else where on the internet.

I think you are trying to accomplish too much at once, and that's why it takes longer. Do not turn around when she pulls, just stop, and then when the leash is loose proceed in the same direction so your dog gets to the desired spot without pulling. Right...
