I am looking for a tool that can create professional looking business cards. I want something that will export to a format I can take into my local "popcopy" printer.

If I was going to hire a professional to design me a business card, I would probably hope (s)he would be using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
The full-professional answer is Adobe Illustrator, you don't need to try that.

I like the look of the Visual Studio Class Designers, but it doesn't give me the flexibility of designing before I implement the code.

I think THX mode produces the nicest image for me. The contrast and quality of the image is just to my liking, EXCEPT some skin tones, especially in fast moving scenes, seem to produce a slight green hue which I find distracting.
