Also looking at asp.net mvc too I've used the FrontContoller pattern on a number.
Has worked for me.

The Model is supposed to represent your business domain.
Separate architectural patterns, or ways of looking at the application, being n-tier/n-layer versus MVP.

Assuming my understanding is correct, the Model should not hold a reference to a View in MVP or MVC.

Having a look in how CSLA.NET handles business rules might.
That in MVP, you have the ability to maintain state in the View, so that's one less thing that's going once development has started in earnest.
I'm having some fun trying to get my head around some MVP stuf, as it pertains to User Controls. I'm using .NET WinForms (or something close to it) and Supervising Controller pattern (well, I think I am :). The User Control is itself part of an MVP application...

You have a interface that anything that uses that view would to is that in many cases it might be impossible to apply the MVP pattern at both the window AND user control is because the "pattern" of MVP....
Should look at Observer Pattern.
