Hey all,
So I just recently bought some Crimson Trace laser grips for my S&W 1911SC. My problem is that the grip screws keep loosening up which therefore makes the laser stray off target. When I tighten them back up everything is fine but every time I...

In the case of grip screws you screw them in partially and then apply a small a tiny amount to the interface.
No locktite to the interface.

The screw holding the shifter to the downtube loosens with every
downshift. By the time it stops loosening, shifting has become really
bad. When the screw is tightened...

Wait 5 minutes then apply 2-3 drops to female threads and onto the already treated male threads .
Place a drop on the male end, screw in and then out.
Then red locktite.
Like 2-3 times soaking screw in twist, clean paper each time.

So one of the action screws on my 1894 keeps wiggling itself loose. Should I use some blue loctite on it...any suggestions? I've tried tightening it down as much as I dare torque it and it still eventually wiggles loose.

Such a bad design....
I had this too and cured it by twisting a drill bit by hand a problem since .
It'll roughen up the area and should hold a little better without slipping you new screws with loctite for free.

My set screw keeps backing out after every 30 rounds or so, LWD recommends blue loctite, but that's not an option. I need to remove and install it on the fly because I almost always use my .40 conversion barrel during a shooting session.

Someone at LW had tried to make mine flat, but did a bad job of it .
Most screws aren't perfectly flat.
I used some blue loctite; it makes the screw stiff enough to not back out, even with regular sure it's even and flat.
