How can an equal volume of something weigh more than another... .
This has to be the hardest myth to kill on this site .
Remember that with equal volumes of fat and muscle, the volume of muscle will weight more that the fat.

I have a home gym.
Protein diet, roughly 1800 calories a day, while exercising regularly.
I weighed myself this morning at Boots and got a reading for my body fat percentage too. I was astounded to find out its over 30%!!!! Does anyone have any recommendations on how I could reduce this? Thanks

Most of the threads I have looked at in this area of the forums stress that you want to keep your muscle mass. Do high weight so you maintain muscle mass, dont do low reps etc etc. What if you just want to lose weight and dont care about losing muscle...

Eat enough Protein to Maintain%) and still not lose any muscle on an extreme cut.
To lose fat)? Lift heavy with low reps to maintain that lean muscle mass.
