I'd like to connect equipment to a coaxial surge protector. Is it needed for a properly grounded coaxial cable? How much attenuation does a typical coaxial surge protector cause over the range of frequencies it will pass?

My normal speed is 11 - 12Mbps. This has dropped to 5-6 Mbps. According to my router I had a lot of disconnections at about 4-00 AM and the local loss of signal figure seems high!

This may be quite acceptable if you have a strong signal....
Assuming you use a passive splitter, it will reduce the signal by half.
Could split it,but the analog signal that you currently have wont be around for long so I wouldnt is yes.

my hazards work fine, my drl's work fine but as soon as i flick the switch to turn my headlights on everything turns off including my foglights and high beam will not stay on
