As it's sold as a mantle piece and not a user then any ol' hunk of wood will do for a handle.

So I’m looking at my “ready to burn” pile, and guessing that I’ve got 4-6 weeks of heat left. I’ve also got about 3 cords of wood that is cut, stacked, and split for next winter. The thought has crossed my mind this morning….what if I were to find someone...

I think of wood, size of splits, length....
There are a lot of other factors like quality wood prices seem to always be minimum 50% higher than green here, often 2x.
wood is worth 1.5 to 2x what green wood is in a swap.

Just curious to see apprx. how much wood people are burning with a 900sq ft living space. also what type of wood, outside temps, and how well the house is insulated. trying to get an idea of how much wood i will need next year in case i can’t scrounge...

Never know if it will be a really cold winter or maybe you get hurt and can’t cut wood for a year really seasoned wood....
To be 2-3 years ahead so when it gets time to burn the wood will be well seasoned plus it’s money in the bank.

For all the OWB guys out there, please do not take offence at the following.
I am new to the Hearth forum. I have researched OWB’s in trying to make a future decision about some day about abandoning a 32 year old bullet proof indoor WoodChuck wood furnace...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at hearth):
You can if they are outdoors.
OWBs are a lot more expensive than wood stoves.
I have had good OWBs and good wood stoves, and a lot of bad stoves, fireplaces and inserts are banned, like in much of New England and New York.
