I have been thinking to replace my driver with a 3 wood. So a 3 wood that is long off the tee is a must. Must also be playable to hit off the deck (at least from a decent lie). Also size matter, a slightly bigger head is also preferred...

I would try to find Ash and spilt it into small pcs so it dries fast .
Seems to dry faster than anything else, from what I saw last year.. .
I voted for soft Maple.
If it is not real dry, I would save it .
Not sure if the green BL would be ready to go .

And if so - what do they do to get it so glossy and smooth? Several polyurethane coats? A friend of mine said it was cheap metal made to look like wood. I didn't think it was

Yesterday I saw a new F30 335i vinyl fake wood.
Some of the Individual trims are veneers of exotic wood a thin veneer of real wood sandwiched in some sort of plastic.
On my e34, it absolutely was real wood.

I love getting wood.
They are so much easier to split.
I find decent logs are better cut into 6" slices .
Best wood is free wood.
I have still not paid for any yet.
It is amazing how much free wood is around.
