There are lots of films, including Hits, with no decent or semidecent DVDs.
Then, there are some Hit Films with no DVD at all , good or bad. Or, may be you can't find one listed despite extensive search.

How much pressure did you use to rewind the film?
It is supposed to turn very easily and the fact may not just be that you stripped out the sprocket holes on the film, but worse, damaged the cameras advance mechanism.
