We could be talking, occasionally the unit ....
We could be talking about a leak in your manifold or a broken K&N or nothing to worry about (safely) and get your head under the bonnet to get an exact location of the hissing.

But it sounds like your turning the gain....
It doesn't sound normal that you should receive a loud level of hiss the interface like you said it already has low audible hiss between 8k-12k in recordings.
Had with the Scarlett so far.
