Toyota Diesels are modern diesels. They don't stink or rattle anywhere nearly as badly as the 'Big...

Has anyone done the math taking into account the cost of the Diesel upgrade, and the cost of Diesel fuel, and figured out how many miles per year you need to drive in order for the Diesel to make more sense in terms of miles per gallon savings?

If you got the diesel not the v6 3.6L it's around $5000 too ! To up grade from v6 3.6L to the v6 ....
The spread between gas/diesel prices keeps it's around $5000 .
I love diesels, however, it no longer is cheaper to own one.

Not only is it cheaper than....
So if possible, fill up with Petro Canada diesel.
The easier the Diesel combusts, the more fuel efficient your car will be.
The highest Cetane rating meaning that their Diesel is the easiest to combust.

Hypothetical: 3.5 L V10 diesel LFA and E24 M6 These would be the only rwd diesels that could be throttle steered.
I estimate 500 hp and 650 lb-ft.

This is more a curiosity than anything, but do certain mods reduce the diesel exhaust smell? Seems that the newer, emission era diesels smell quite a bit less than old tech diesels...

Diesel is great, but if you can't get it with AWD and you really want/need AWD, I'd take that first.
Wait 6 months, the Cruze get's a 2.0L Turbo-diesel that with the manual is expected to be rated for 50mpg highway.

To go, but even at that, you need to weigh up the extra maintenance items a diesel incurs during a diesel.
