Big guy is pushing 5" now. Sorry pic is a bit blurry, but he either swims fast or pushes his face right against the glass.
This one is the less dominant one and has turned a blue smokey grey. Not sure...

This is probably a stupid question I've kept cichlids for years. Large Crenicichla, Oscars, Dempseys, Severums, ect... but I have never kept Blood Parrots!
My 55 gallon tank is very heavily planted (I can't see the background or the floor anymore) and...

I'm trying to plan out what types of cichlids to purchase when I re-set up my 75gal tank. I've had luck with electric blue, yellow labs, green terrors, jack dempsey and blood parrots. I've always just had a mix of what I thought was neat looking. The ...

If you were going to go with a EBJD at a young age and want in with rams and other small fish.....
I would say if you really want to do a EBJD then you should really do your research cichlid tankmates can put on them.
Them in groups.

Okay, so I know I'm new here and I've already admitted to impulse buying two cichlids (even though I did have SOME knowledge about them) but I've got another confession. They're living in a ten gallon tank.... If it makes things any fairer, they're basically...

In addition, as it appears you have live plants in your tank, I would try some taller plants like Vals....
Not that your on the left side of the tank.
Specifically, I like the background and driftwood.
Hi Stoic ,
Your tank looks great.
