I have a kanji tattoo on my right shoulder (yeah, not hip, sue me) that translates more or less to anti-war.
It's a rare thing, I imagine, but not impossible.

The same as the original poster my tattoo results were slightly less impressive...i think it looks very scars a second look, especially with a decent tattoo Job I shave down pretty close and i'm almost in the skin to the point where it ....
