So I hear a lot of people get the same or really similar ACT and MCAT scores...what do you all think? anyone who scored a 30 ACT score bad meaning low 20's or less on MCAT?
ACT can be taken several times and most people improve gradually or stay the same...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
If you can score high....
I dont remember if that was considered a decent act score but i dont think.
Well I got a 31 act and 37 mcat.
You wont see a lot of idiots who score well on the MCAT.
score well on the ACT.

Seriously. we could leave the testing center with our score.. have time to retake if we need it without seriously delaying the app. wishful thinking..
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
There were people in the same room as me taking the GRE while I took the mcat, which gives you your score as soon as you're done....
I think the current generation...
Take today's MCAT and score in the 90+ percentile--impossible.

How well do the two scores correlate? As in, is the score you get on the Kaplan FL usually similar to the score you actually get on the MCAT, or is there a big discrepancy?
I got a 24 on my diagnostic (7V, 8B, 9P). I got a 30 on the first FL (Kaplan version...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
I took 1-6, wish i would have done more considering that if the actual MCAT is harder, then everybody would get similarly lower raw score, and so the scaled score....
All my kaplan fl scores and my real mcat score.

Can anyone comment on how MCAT scores correlate with USMLE Step (1 + 2) Scores?
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
I wouldn't say that one can predict step scores on the MCAT alone, but there is some evidence that one's performance ....
Exceptionally well on the mcat, can still do very well on the USMLE? There is most definitely some correlation.

Hey boys and girls,
So I just took my MCAT today (May 19th 2012). It was extremely hard even after all my studying.
So I thought... those who've already taken the MCAT could share some things to expect from the exam. I'm DEFINITELY not saying we should...
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
-- 30 9/10/11
2) Highest AAMC MCAT score --35 11/10/14
....
Breakdowns are appreciated, but not necessary.
1) Your lowest AAMC MCAT score (not including diag).
To be over and praying there won't be another retake in my future .

I took the 5/24 exam yesterday - I freaked out in the beginning because I couldn't believe I was taking the MCAT...calmed down and caught up with my normal pace, but the sections were all hard, including things I have never seen before (and things I never...

They are doing away with the writing section for the next two years?
I read it on the MCAT faq on the AAMC website.
Did i read that right?
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at studentdoctor):
Then in....
It will be the same test as we all took, minus the writing section .
If i've read it right, 2014 is the 'sweet spot' year for most MCAT takers.
Ughhh....that writing sections wears you down for the BS section .
To the MCAT in 2015.
