Right, So I was thinking about doing some stuff like having lights turn on/off etc when playing movies in MCE and was wondering what MCE integrated software is out there and people are using?

VmcController also can send status updates, so you would not have to use a tablet just in the UK and X10 is old tech compared... .
Wow factor thing like when I turn on a film if the lights are on they auto dim from within mce/ or extender account.

Hello,
When I set up my XBox 360 as a Windows Media Extender although I can see all the media I have on my Windows Vista PC it is excruciatingly slow to move between albums etc
Is there anything I can do to improve this or is it just because of the number...

Vista MCE really aren't fast enough for Media Center Extender to work at an optimal speed.
Disappointed that Windows 7 MCE is working so badly using XBOX-360 as a Media Centre Extender.

I have checked the services checked the dependencies all are working However I cannot get Media Center Extender to start a new user account dedicated....
I have deleted all extenders.
Center extender to work! Simple enough.

Both routers on firmware:
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/20/11) std-usb-nas - build 18024
PC (Win7 Ultimate) is hard wired to E3000. Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials.

The WMC button (the green button) on Xbox media remote or WMC remote will power up Xbox and go directly into WMC mode .

I've been trying to get an Xbox360 set up as an extender for MCE. Unfortunately the only support from Microsoft is for Vista/7 and I've reverted to MCE2005 as it causes me fewer problems.
