Hello all,
I've start a small project which includes working with Midi files. I've been wondering, does any of you know of a c# \vb.net code that peforms that cast between midi and wav files?

In order to get sounds from a MIDI file, you have to pass the file through a music synthesizer or sampler, which will convert the note and controller information into actual....
MIDI files contain only note and controller information, not sounds.

I think this is a tough one but I would like to know the pros and cons of Midi File vs MP3. I know that MP3 tracks cannot be individually adjusted and that MP3 come only in the key you get it( I am going to purchase a MP3 key converter)

Are made with real instruments and not, if I listen to a midi file song and the same MP3 the MP3 After the Lovin(Englebert) can be had as an MP3 and midi song but the MP3 sounds better.

To convert from mp3 to midi, the software would have to be able from mp3 to midi, the software would have to be able to isolate the separate instruments, detect data format, midi files....
Of like sheet music for the pc.

Is it a good Idea to turn all my music files, which are currently midi sequence, and turn them into mp3 files? In doing so, I'll increase my client folder's size by a lot but I'll get more awesome music. What should I do?

Think of a midi as a low resolution image.
Converting from midi to an mp3 won't make the music sound any better.
I converted a MIDI Sequence to a mp3, wav, ogg, and a wma, it sounds like craaap.
