I'm actually reposting a question from the iphone development boards. I didn't ask it, but I found it when trying to find its answer. Nobody had yet responded there, so I thought I'd try posting it here.

I was jus watching a rerun of some old episodes, and in one of them there was a question about when penguins are close to the magnetic north pole.
The answer that was given was that they soon will be, because of the magnetic poles are changing places....

Hey Folks,
Ever since I saw NME rider's boom camera mount using the magnets, I have been thinking about this. So here is my idea:
I use the lightweight "beware of dog" sign from Lowes. It is very thin aluminum - my estimate is that it is about 0.040" ...

My thought is that the sail is more likely damaged by something rubbing on the sail than it would be by a direct magnetic clamping in an effort to maximize the clamping....
A layer of mylar, or tape between the magnet and the sail on the inside.
