From an improvising approach I'd go E major over all, and E minor over the A minor chord.

You circumvent the 3rd in your example, and so it's not a major chord, using your word is the sole determinant....
The Major 11th is an ugly chord, because it clashes with the major 3rd.
Something, that should have been stressed.
I am not sure I really understand...for example, in the key of C major, why would d minor (d, f, a) resolve to G major ( g, b, d)?

And a fifth chord in a major scale is Major, so you can play the second Chord (D) as major....
The same as chord II in a major key is always minor and chord VII is always dominante.

Make playing I had so much playing ....
Play the chord string by string and make on it slowly and keep on practicing switching to that chord, and eventually it will come naturally.
Relax your fingers and shift them around.
And just relax.

So in order to play in every key, you just need on the fretboard... .
As soon as you can play an A Major barre chord, you can literally play any other barre chord of these chords move just like the A major chord.
Think.
