Stutter noise I would say tbh? screch noise would be belt needs tighting or a new one Gunna get it serviced soon mate! It's not the belts just a loud juddering sort of noise....
Grinding banging stutter more info needed or a video might help .

I think that the 'popping' noise from running too lean sounds more like a squeaky fart than a pop, but that's besides the point.
What is it that actually makes the noise?

Presumably a misfire, in the same guise as Knock, though in this case due to poor/incomplete... .
I'd guess that exhaust gets so hot, that it ignites unburnt mixture (drawn to pipe by pressure wave) before it's pushed back to cylinder (by counter pressure wave) .

This TSB is for Acura, but is the same that this noise is likely being caused the torque converter and that it would have to be replaced in order for this noise to go away.
You might see if that is the cause of your noise.

Rebuilt engine makes a ping noise at just over mid rpm? I had the whole engine rebuilt with a weisco high comp. Piston installed could it be i need higher octane gas? Is it ruined if it smokes a little? I paid way too much to have this engine built please...

I'm noticing a noise my truck makes that I don't remember hearing before. I'm hoping you guys might have some ideas.
The noise is like a repetitive "wur wur wur wur" sounds, similar to the helicopter sound you can get sometimes when your windows are down...

The noise could also come from the driveshaft a real pain hearing this noise ....
The opening I was referring to the joint at the input of the diff .
The diff area and the noise sounds like it's coming from further up the drive shaft.

It only happens at idle, the noise goes away with the slightest touch of the accelerator it.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted from the intake snorkle.
Although I don't see anything in the MAF that would make any noise.
