Ok, kicking this season off a little early but I can't wait any longer
Bit of history, this is my third foaling season so I'm still somewhat of a rookie. I'm in Australia so my foaling season starts in August, most of my mares...

I have someone interested in buying my mare and her 19 day old foal, the potential buyer is 600 miles away. What factors do I need to consider when deciding how soon I would let them make such a journey.
I've only ever sold weanlings and up, I'm not familiar...

Thoroughbred mares routinely ship with a foal worth
As I recall my uncle put mare and foal in a 2h straight trailer (it was Brenderup style.
And insure mare and foal until it arraives at their place.

I had the single mare on a lead when mare/mare ....
Anything that can be a problem with regular horses will be a problem with a mare and foal.

No real problem, just a question. We don't have any natural predators for horses where I am. Maybe snakes would be a scary thing but the horses don't run into them often. I swear I do more than them. Just wondering when the foals lay down to sleep what...

So I guess my answer is; if its an older mares first foal yes he may not come out as nice as a 5-8 yr old mares first foal.

I can't believe what a great batch of fillies this year.
I think it's the first year ever that each mare bred gifted us with a pinto filly
