Thoroughbred mares routinely ship with a foal worth As I recall my uncle put mare and foal in a 2h straight trailer (it was Brenderup style.
And insure mare and foal until it arraives at their place.

The new born quickly things can turn and happen and the foal get hurt I had the single mare on a lead when mare/mare ....
Anything that can be a problem with regular horses will be a problem with a mare and foal.

So I guess my answer is; if its an older mares first foal yes he may not come out as nice as a 5-8 yr old mares first foal.

Moving a mare with a foal at the age you're looking at should not be an issue, particularly an auxiliary oil cooler on the tranny before you went anywhere).
