Latest data show that we are using less fuel, yet the price keeps going up. That suggests that someone else is buying the gas. China and India, looking straight at you! Seems the oil companies have buyers. No need for it to be us.

Why don't light rail and other mass transit lines simply follow freeway routes? It seems like that would avoid a lot of the cost of buying real estate and bickering over routes and have the added benefit of advertising for riders every time it zipped ...
