Posted 3 weeks ago Well I need new front rotors and I want to go ahead and upgrade them. I've heard so many different opinions on whether or not to get drilled and slotted rotors or just slotted rotors. So what do you guys think, which are better?

Posted 3 weeks ago I think drilled and slotted can look a bit be careful since drilling a rotor = some weakening (unless they're really thick but those are $$$) Posted but you gotta be careful since....
Of the rotor Thats just my .02 however.
These look interesting: http://www.ecstuning.com/News/BMW_E8...e_Brake_Rotors Currently have the BMW Performance ones, but would consider these down the line. Anyone have experience with ECS Rotors for other applications?

Can't we find some vendor to help us mass are a real bargain.
Reduction of a standard rotor it'd be a nice drop in rotational mass for you.
Quote: Since I know folks will be eventually asking about this I figured it would be better to head off this disaster before it gets ugly. Here is the response I made to a different forum a few months ago after collecting some information: First, lets...

So remember how they talked about glazing? the slots help wipe away the glazed layer .
The more aggressive the pad, the more it's going to eat the rotor rotor temps as high as 1700*f on a mustang.
Compounds well and they're durable.

Hi guys, I was talking to this vendor on the forums about getting some 2 piece rotors made for the Mazda3, some of us that autocross/track our car are looking for any kind of weight saving to help us get faster. Not only do these save weight, rotational...

Dimensions"? Are you saying they'll have the same dimensions as an OEM Mazda rotor? Was thinking saying they'll have the same dimensions as an OEM Mazda 3 caliper + rotor? Was thinking of doing rotor dimensions...same diameter and....
I'm going to be literally overhauling my entire brake system after summer, and have slowly started gathering the parts. However, I need to do something about my front brakes this week. I've got regular Friction Master MKD748 pads up front that have just...

Mass is an important variable in heat-mass transfer, especially in your locale....
+1000 Simple Physics supports this.
Edited by stephen9666 ( Yesterday at 11:38 AM ) Is there a way to find the weight of each rotor get the heavier ones.
I thought this was a nice read. If it's a repost someone please delete. Cliffnotes: Slotted/drilled = for looks except for a few rare cases which shouldn't apply if you're on this forum. Quote: First, lets get some physics. Tell me how a heatsink with...

Lol I was sad when no one read it.
*clap clap Thanks for reviving it.
I thought it might have been too long of a read for some .
Thanks! *adds imaginary +rep* My imaginary rep is growing to huge proportions! I'm glad you enjoyed it .
Excellent read.
Time for Front and Rear Brakes and Rotors @VagFest I was told in order to do my rear brakes I would need my Ross-Tech Cable which I already ordered , Now I wanted to go with Drilled/Slotted Rotor with some ceramic Pads and found this on ebay. I am not...

They are much less prone to warping to a lot of controversy... .
Top end cars that seem to have drilled rotor have the holes cast in the manufacture of the rotor.
After market drilled rotors are just that; drilled.
Weakening the rotor.
