I went to Chapman for film production, but have become disinterested in that subject. I'm very interested in Computer Science now.
I am in the honors program here and would be able to complete that program as well as business and math minors and CS major...

Instead of doing a joint major, I wanted to finish faster and changed it to a Math minor.
If it takes 5 extra courses for a Math major, how many for a Math minor?
That's what I did.

Hi!
This fall I'm going to the uni. Warsaw University , which is my 1st choice (for now at least) offers a joint course in Math and CS (resulting in two diplomas). Is this a good combination? The course is quite famous for the difficulty and work involved...

So get your math means go for it.
University it was only 2 extra classes to get a minor in math if you were already CS.

Agreed.
There's no need yet.
To see the major leagues and are average minor leaguers kept around to provide veteran leadership like that in the minors.

I'm 18 years old and going to community college. I got an A+ in my data structures class, but the biggest thing I've ever programmed on my own was a tool to solve a 3d maze toy of my brother's. I'm a little worried that I don't have enough passion for...

While doing my master's I have to take a sequence of two classes in math. My master's is in Computer Engineering, mostly on subject of embedded systems, computer architecture and OS, with focus on power management for my thesis.

I saw this topic and had a bit of a different question.
I've taken almost all the math classes necessary for a CS degree (Calculus I-III, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, and I'll be taking Statistics this semester). To get a math minor, I only need one...

I am sure many developers here -- at least the ones who were formally trained -- took a fair amount of math courses in the university. Some minored in mathematics. The curriculum usually included Calculus (level 1, 2 and 3), linear algebra, probability...

Depends what field of development you're in.
Very likely not much math involved.

It seems that conventional wisdom suggests that good programmers are also good at math. Or that the two are somehow intrinsically linked. Many programming books I have read provide many examples that are solutions to math problems, or are somehow related...

CS generally focuses Universitie's CS programs are so close to their math program that a double major is only a few courses away.
In Computer Science has got to go through a lot of math to get their degree.

I'm just after reading Jeff's 'Five Things You Didn't Know About Me (and my office)' blog entry on Coding Horror and right at the bottom of this page he mentions (to my surprise) that he is terrible at math:

I am terrible at math and yet I get paid to write software.
It depends -- are you counting knowing how to use formulas part of math?
I think you need to be able to solve problems and that usually involves algorithms and formulas.
