Maths Stats

Most planners I know have to deal with little more than basic math. Trig and geometry help, although they have become less important as GIS becomes commonplace and there is less need to do things like calculate area off a paper map. Stats is helpful at a more advanced level, or if you will be involved in research. source

I doubt the math questions will be programming related, since that is a seperate and on the whole much harder area. It is also an area where you really have to know the underlying math before you can tackle. For example a question like "solve this set of linear equations" is a lot easier to tackle than "write a program that will solve linear equations of this type in a reasonably effective manner". And if you can't do the first you have no real chance of doing the second. I'm sure you can ask for a copy of some old exams to see what kind of questions they'll be asking. Take a look at those and try to guage if you have the skills necessary. source

Math is my second favorite subject, right after English. Strange combination, I know, but it's what I love. I'm taking a Stats course right now and I am loving it. source
