During the spin cycle the washer never gets up to speed so clothes are still soaking wet. I replaced the thrust washer but it did not help. I did notice that I am unable to turn the tub (tried by using a wrench on the agitator bolt). Also the tub pulley...

Sounds like you either did not get the thrust washer on with enough pressure, or more likely you.

The Maytag model 92 #478742 engine was on a shelf in an antique shop in Valley City, North Dakota during our 2002 summer trip. Since I didn't have transport room, I never even looked at the matching washer it came from that was out in back of the shop...

My Maytag washer will fill on the Regular cycle, but only "click" when it is supposed to agitate. It continues to "click" to advance through the cycle and then will spin and empty. Same thing on the Permanent Press cycle. Funny thing is that it works ...

I'm having this same problem.
If you buy from this site and the part does not fix the problem you can return it, see the returns policy .
Change it out and see if that fixes it.
It could be the motor but I think it is more likely the timer .
