I have a Warwick Thumb 5 string not for normal human money.
The 3 woods in the body and the ebony fingerboard give it a unique sound and feel .
These are nicer...
IMHO this is no ordinary Thumb...

The problem is, I don't have anywhere to rest my thumb in the bridge position (which is where I play).

That was a cool idea The cover is only 15$ to replace so who cares: Yeah, I do use the floating thumb technique for slower stuff.
