I know most people leave it at Spot metering. I have been too myself. But lately have decided to explore other metering modes. Been using Partial to include some of the metering not just at that miniscule 3% center spot.
Alas, I still wish for AF point...

I'm not even sure what the metering mode is called, but I have it set to meter to directly meter what I'm interested in metering.

My D800 arrived today and the metering mode dial is very stiff. Too stiff to turn with one finger, yet difficult to grip with 2 fingers due to its small size and proximity to the AF-Lock button. Anyone else experience this?
I also find the camera uncomfortable...

Once I press INFO, how do I change the metering mode? I set the PREVIEW button down the PREVIEW....
I never use the mode dial because you can set PREVIEW button to another metering mode, such as spot, I didn't know that.
