Hi Everyone!
I'm a newly stay at home wife (soon to be mom), and I'm trying to think of ways to cook more frugally. I've heard that casseroles are always a good inexpensive dish. Anyone have any tried and true ideas? Thanks!

So...I'm pretty new at this, and I tried to make this microwave cheese sauce by substituting Bob's All Purpose Flour, uh, really did not work. Any advice? I want a quick cheese sauce that I can melt in the microwave.

Here is the low carb breakfast casserole that I make. I then store serving size pieces in the fridge and take to work. I also don't eat until I get there. Then I just nuke it when I am hungry. I even take it for lunch sometimes.

I don't remember the exact....
Just stir it, cover, and microwave.
I put 2:1 water and rice like normal in a casserole dish with a lid.
Finally my grandma told me to do it in the microwave.
It always came out mushy or crunchy.
With rice.

It is a pretty good size because I use it to make rice and I heat casserole sized.
It is easy to clean for my panasonic.
So, I use the microwave a lot.
Topped stove dirty because it is a PIA to clean .

I have made variations on the classic holiday green bean casserole
several times, eliminating the canned cream of whatever soup and the
canned onion thingies. They've all been improvements...

Last to do properly in a microwave - OTOH, I never
do veggies in the microwave unless I'm just reheating leftovers.
Green bean casserole add a little soy sauce - the
natural MSG gives it a real lift.
