Microwave ovens Do you use it much when cooking?
Just about the only thing we use ours for is re-heating leftovers and making popcorn. It seems to be a ubiquitous fixture in every kitchen, but I sometimes wonder if we'd really miss it if it were removed...

Since I haven't bought one in twenty had a whirlpool over the oven type for the las 10 years and have had no problem the range microwave.
Ronnie our Panasonic Microwave is about as old as yours.

I have looked, and am more than likely over looking the code reference in the 2008 book.. Which code states its bad to tap a microwave off the 30amp oven circuit? The microwave is 120v and the oven is 240v.

Problem began when I lost power and used a generator to run a microwave oven. The oven made a buzzing noise with chatter and heating power stopped. Everything else still works. Assumed magnetron bad and replaced with a new one,wrong, still did not heat...

All microwave ovens have a thermal switch on the magnetron that opens when the magnetron gets too under favorable operating conditions.
