The good news is that what you are experiencing is not a mid-life crisis unless your family tends.
And assuming again you are one of these, apologies if not) the actual mid-life crisis would be age 36.

Zeiss has the phantastic 21mm Distagon, a legendary lens that is also wider then the 25/2 .
