I am faced with replacing the automatic transmission on my babied 256,000 mile 99 4runner.
Should I expect other large repairs soon?

If it can't go more than 1,500 miles on a quart of oil; the end is not far away or universal joints also fail every....
If the motor uses less than a quart in 3,000 miles; it has a lot of life left in the pistons and rings.

I went to get an oil change and they came back saying I needed $535 in car repairs, serpentine belts, something with one of the back wheels knocking and labor costs. I am always leery of getting duped because I am female because it has happened before...

Breaks, oil change and check, jump, fuel filter, etc.) but if I ever need repairs I have a guy a degree in auto repair and manages a shop, I can tell you the BEST thing to do is to tell them no thank to just any shop you can get into.

Diesel is a heavy fuel oil and hence when it burns - I've had a car turbo go before and you can tell a mile off that it has.
Sensor and took the car for a good 30 mile thrash.

3) Must be original owner, or have all repair paperwork if "2nd owner"

The guidelines for a covered repair are 5 years or 50K miles, and original owner.
