This may be a long shot but if your dog is well behaved you can check to see if a therapy dog organization....
Check out netpets.org This is another example of how the military over does the whole Family thing and ignores the single guy or girl.

On a normal day I run with one of my two dogs (german shepherd and a german shepherd mix). Some days my husband and I will run together and we will each take one of the dogs...
