I was doing it every 2 is too good and inexpensive to let go .

You can get, then Magic Eraser dampened with denatured....
It will NOT damage the glue holding the laminations of the shaft together, like lighter fluid [which was often recommended in the past to clean the shaft].
And as a cleaning solvent.

So I'm on my own a lot of the time but landlord comes in some days whilst I'm still cleaning with my own choice of music on to listen to whilst I'm doing the cleaning.
