Minimum Wage vs. Maximum Ratio
So a friend of mine thinks that Maximum Ratio might be a viable alternative to the Minimum Wage. To me this sounds like socialist attempts at mathematical justification of "fairness".

I just heard on the news they raised the minimum wage here to $10.25/hr. I'm surprised and I feel old considering it increases by mere cents every year and it was $5.15 when I had my first job.

I was a supporter of the minimum wage when it was introduced by the last Labour government as I believed that the previous system where employers paid less than a living wage leaving the state to make up the difference through the benefit system was unfair...

I moved out on my own in 1978 and was making minimum wage, I just checked and minimum wage was $2.65 an hour, 106 dollars a week. I was paying 90 bucks a month for rent plus utility's. I couldn't afford a car or cable TV though, thankfully I only lived...
