A time delay or slow-blow fuse won't, so that if the current is only a brief transient the circuit of less than 1 ohm, giving a prospective....
In theory, a quick blow fuse will blow in a matter of milliseconds if current exceeds the ratied value.

Was it the white rectangular SMT device? Well, that wasn't a fuse, it is a capacitor for the LED little rectangular piece with a yellow dot on it.
