Nice thought...but I don't think so! They had a decent base, and it's been cold enough most nights for them to blow snow .

My first "real" mountain bike was a GT avalanche.
I'd say if your looking to get into it you should buy a decent bike.
I love mountain biking but just like our 4runners it can become a money pit.
