Is there a limit to the number of ipods I can manage thru one copy of iTunes? Is there any difference between music I've ripped myself (outside of iTunes, standard mp3s) and music purchased thru the itunes store?

It would be hard to say how the bit rate would differ between music you have gotten from outside the iTunes store as compared to songsyou can use an unlimited....
All of their music in the iTunes store so they no longer have DRM.

I would rather prefer to have my music with all my other music on iTunes and not have to use an app to listen to ONE album. This is very irritating to me and if there isn't a way to transfer the music, is there a way I can cancel this purchase?

Each time I upgrade iTunes a small selection of songs go missing. i.e. they are not found by iTunes and the file itself is no longer in the folder on the hard-disk.

Losing iTunes database isn't so critical because you can always rebuild, but personal files is another is definitively wrong in iTunes 9.0....
But seriously, apart from not giving more details, iTunes losing files is a critical bug.

So I've got a podcast I want to keep. Do not auto-delete doesn't seem to work properly as at least one episode has already been deleted.

I had to re-add my music folder ( File > Add Folder To Library iTunes 8 now....
Change its value from 1 to 0 and iTunes will place the file in Music rather than Podcasts iTunes into re-indexing the new tags.
